Editing Jack & Mert

Jack & Mert, the fantastic duo are two self-proclaimed "Fresh Blood Rappers" from Louisiana who claim they are "straight out of Atlanta". The two are perhaps less known for their music though, and more so [[Jack and Mert (Series)|the series]] surrounding the story, which for some reason seems to break many fourth wall boundaries.

Jack has porcelain skin, black, spiky hair, a skeptical smirk, an amulet, and a Spanish Defense Force suit. Mert has porcelain skin, dawns a black hat with a red phoenix of Irish Redcliff origin, a simple smile, and a black tuxedo.

== '''2. Creation & Development''' ==
It started with a Katio Roleplay scene between Franku and Bite in 2018. Julie Katio was apparently about to get assassinated on her show. Kylie Karadak, Axel and Amy thankfully snuck in as the light crew, ran onstage, bumped into every backup dancer and caused a scene. The assassination attempt was successfully shut down, so obviously the next thing to do was invite guest artists to perform as well and rank everyone amongst the trending artists in the world. Bite (Character) extracts a list from the universe's Billboard Artist 100 that displays the current moment's top 10. All sorts of solo artists and groups made up on the spot showed up. Julie was ranked second, but a never before seen duo formed in that very live event seemed to have scored first place.

In 2023, Bite and Franku were going through their old roleplays, rediscovering "Leaderboard.png". It was the funniest thing they've ever seen, so they saved it and planned to create a series about the two aspiring rappers, who would in fact reach nothing but success. Surprisingly, they hurried to create the announcement video and song. It was supposed to be a simple gag. Look at where we've gone now. It's all a mess. No one knows what's going to happen next. Everything starts as a simple, harmless joke, and gets stretched to wherever the fuck.

== '''3. Background & Story''' ==

Jack and Mert are said to have met in high school during 2018. They bonded over a passion for music and art, but didn't take it anywhere. Going into adulthood, the two part ways. Fast-forward to March 2023, Jack, inspired to begin a music career like he always wanted to, turns to Mert. They move in together to Jack's inherited apartment in Louisiana. On April 2nd 2023 they upload their first video, titled “[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQd4qxPBtD4 MERT AND JACK FIRST VIDEO (BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!~])” on their own YouTube channel (Would later get [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ32tUrlBoM&t=1s reuploaded] to the [https://www.youtube.com/@biteisme BiteIsMe] channel). The video was a hassle to make and didn't lead to much, so on June 19th 2023 they went and published their first song unannounced, "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTovHdl1PBY myStical creature]".


Following the success of their single "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTovHdl1PBY myStical creature]", Jack and Mert are signed to media studio "Shalom Productions". But with many failed attempts to replicate the success of "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTovHdl1PBY myStical creature]", Jack & Mert turned to the film making industry. They release their short film "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJTG0ehaZ14&t=1s The Georgian Flash]" on February 13th, 2024. Unfortunately, the film fucking bombed in the box offices, which was a big reason for Shalom Productions consideration of dropping Jack and Mert. It is also notable to mention a dream Jack had. In this dream, he and Mert traversed through the Family Guy universe, inadvertently causing it to collapse on itself. When Jack wakes up, Mert reveals to him that the show had been cancelled in real life.


Seeing no success, Jack and Mert silently begin to part ways over the months while Shalom Productions further considers dropping them. Jack also receives a message asking him to join the Spanish military, which he reluctantly agrees to. Jack is loyal to what was apparently his home nation (he doesn't speak Spanish) and his outfit always contained the Spanish flag on the right side of his sleeve. Having not been creatively active anyways, him leaving to serve his country seems like a bigger priority. However, the rumors of Shalom Productions growing tired of the duo still worry Jack, which causes him to unexpectedly released the "DEATH OF LIFE" mixtape on December 21st, 2024 from his boot camp, without permission from the label. The mixtape consists mostly of unreleased material that Jack and Mert had been teasing throughout their career, such as Fly Away,  Irish Origins and more. This was the point where La Cucaracha finally decide to "evict" them from the studio.  

Later, on February 21st, 2025, The label releases "Fresh Blood Rappers" without consulting the duo. this album contained more unreleased material, thought it's worth mentioning the tracks in this album were significantly lacking in quality compared to their previous work, some even being AI-generated. It's said La Cucaracha was no longer in charge of anything involving the duo at this point.
